As a drivetrain engineer you combine electronics and physics to ensure the car can reach up to 130km/h using as little power as possible. The drive train include the MCU, motor controller unit, which converts the power of the battery to different phases, the motor coils, to repress current spikes, the motor itself, an 3 phase axial flux, and its cooling system. You can either redesign or improve these existing systems to make the car lighter and more efficient.
