Race Operations Manager

As the Race Operations Manager, you are in charge of one of the most complex puzzles for our team. It holds the responsibility of getting all material to the right place, at the time and with the right people. A challenge that is crucial and difficult to master for many companies as well. A wide range of communication styles are needed: ranging from talking with CEO’s to truckers on a forklift.

You are tasked with finding suitable test locations and preparing testing days together with the Technical Project Manager and System Architect. The logistics of getting the car, tools and right people on site requires careful planning and coordination.

In preparation for the rally, a massive task awaits: shipping the car and all of its spare parts, tools and other equipment overseas. Challenges of battery shipments, documentation, delays will be on your path, but you will be the one that gets it done: the safe arrival of the rally car!

Next to logistics, other preparations for the race are carried out as well, such as hoarding supplies and making sure all team members are in the right place at the right time, while well-fed and prepared for their tasks.

Do you love it when a plan comes together? Do you like to get stuff done? Are you good at negotiating your plans to get the best outcome? Then this role might be for you!

The experience of Daniël

My name is Daniël Wonink, and the previous edition I had fulfilled this role. After completing my Bachelor in Industrial Engineering and Management, at the University of Twente. I have greatly enjoyed this function, specifically because there is so little information to start with. Everything is open in the beginning, and the team and your partners bring constraints that you ultimately fit into a puzzle.

The role asks you to be flexible, work structurally, and be open to try new things. Furthermore, it allows you to spend time in other departments of the team as well. Personally, I have spent quite a bit of time on events and smaller challenges for the team
