Solar Team Twente is allowed to start testing on the Australian road from next week! The RED Engine is the first car in the Challenger class to be approved by the Australian Road Authority. This approval is necessary to enter the road in Australia.
The test includes the examination of the structural design, the lighting, the brakes, and the driver safety. The RED Engine amply passed the test on all these points. Jelle, Technical Manager of the team, was proud to receive the certificate. “We have expected The RED Engine to meet all the requirements, but this certificate is a nice confirmation!”

Now that the RED Engine has been approved, the team can drive on the Cox Peninsula Road, to do the last tests before the World Solar Challenge. The first tests will start this Monday, to be fully prepared for the race on the 6th of October.
