My name is Marijn Kalter, I am 20 years old and born and raised in Apeldoorn. The past year I have completed my bachelor studies in Applied Physics, which is why I went looking for my next challenge. During the previous edition (2017), my brother (Rémon Kalter) was a member of Solar Team Twente. This has provided me with an exclusive preview of all of their activities and is what has led to me actually applying for this year’s team. My position is strategy, which basically means that me and my strategic model determine our solar cars speed during the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge to make sure we are the first ones to cross the finish line in Adelaide. The main inputs for this model are; the weather and the characteristics of our solar car. This is truly an awesome project, and a unique experience to work together with our team for one and a half years to be able to finish first in Australia!
