The RED Engine

Info: The RED Engine is the solar car that started the World Solar Challenge for Solar Team Twente on October 6th 2013. The RED Engine finished third. Improvements were mostly made on the total mass of the car. This mainly the result of the design techniques of the technical team and of course using a lighter material. The new carbon is aircraft grade and makes the car extremely light while still being very strong. The aerodynamic drag has also been reduced compared to the previous car, despite the extra wheel casing.
