RED Shift is not only a symbol for the change from fossil to renewable energy that we want to accomplish, but also a physical phenomenon. In astronomy and physics redshift is a phenomenon where the spectrum of emitted light or other electromagnetic radiation is shifted towards ‘red’ upon reception. That means that it shifts to the longer wavelengths (lower frequencies). The opposite effect, where a shift to the shorter wavelengths (towards ‘blue’) happens, is called blueshift. Our solar car RED Shift owes her name to this physical phenomenon.
