One of the most important parts of the preparation for the World Solar Challenge is driving test kilometres. As soon as The RED Engine arrives in Darwin, Solar Team Twente will prepare the car for testing as soon as possible, to ensure optimal preparations for a winning race. Therefore, it is important to explore the Australian road network!

Previous years, a test track near Darwin was used, named the Cox Peninsula Road. This week, a few team members explored this track. This rural, winding, 80 kilometre long road links the Stuart Highway, the road where the World Solar Challenge will take place, to the Western shore of Darwin Harbour. The road leads along some small (aboriginal) communities, a few wildlife parks and grazing wild horses.

As soon as The RED Engine will be approved by Road Authority, Solar Team Twente can start the first tests Down Under!
